Conduct System

Every term, the school will assign a conduct grade for every student ranging from A to D.

A: Excellent      B: Good      C: Satisfactory      D: Poor

Conduct grades are agreed upon homeroom and subject teachers. Areas of consideration include and are not limited to whether students are diligent, self-disciplined, humble, honest, organized, respectful and enthusiastic.

Reward

The school will award students serving, learning and participating in school activities with enthusiasm. Awards include commendation cards, merits, minor credits and major credits.

Punishment

(1) The school will take disciplinary measures. Disciplinary actions include detention, warnings, black marks, minor demerits, major demerits and class suspension.

(2) The school has the right to suspend students who have repeatedly violated school rules or committed serious school violations.

a. The school has the right to decide the duration of the school suspension.

b. During school suspension, the school will invite the parents/guidance of the student in relation to discuss teaching instructions and the arrangement of class resumption.

Rewards

1. For students with the following performances, teachers may award merits, minor or major credits to respective students:

  • Participate in extracurricular activities and perform well;
  • Participate in school services and perform well;
  • Recipients of honor for the school;
  • Outstanding performance in class or learning;
  • Those who are able to perform well in their duties as prefects, class monitors or monitresses, and student leaders;
  • Committee member of school clubs/teams with good performance;
  • Those who have made special contributions to the promotion of Christianity.
2. Students who attend school punctually throughout the year will be awarded the “Punctuality Star” award.
3.Students who have no absence record throughout the year will be awarded the “Diligent Star” award.

Punishment

  1. Students who commit any of the following items may be given a black mark:
    • Disrupt the school environment or order.
    • Speak foul language.
    • Bring items back to school that are not related to study.
    • Absent from class.
    • Late repeatedly.
    • Enter classroom late or late severely.
    • Fail to submit doctor’s certificate after taking leave due to illness. 
    • Wear improper or untidy school uniforms repeatedly.
    • Fail to hand in homework or bring textbooks to school.
    • Violation of “The Rules and Regulations of Using Student’s Locker”, “Regulations of Bringing and Storing Mobile Phones to School” and “Acceptable Usage Policy for Students Bringing Their Own Devices (BYOD) Agreement”.
  2. Students who commit any of the following offences may be credited with one or two minor demerits:
    • Disrespect or deceive teachers.
    • Bully classmates.
    • Absent for a day without a proper reason.
    • Fake parental signatures.
    • Gamble, smoke, or drink alcohol.
    • Cheat in any forms of assessment.
    • Bring a lighter, cigarette or e-cigarette, alternative smoking product, or other prohibited items to school.
    • Conduct outside the school and damage the reputation of the school.
    • Repeated violations of “The Rules and Regulations of Using Student’s Locker”, “Regulations of Bringing and Storing Mobile Phones to School” and “Acceptable Usage Policy for Students Bringing Their Own Devices (BYOD) Agreement”.
  3. A student who commits any of the following shall be denoted one or more of the following or receive other appropriate penalties:
    • Deliberate destruction of public property.
    • Cheat in any forms of assessment.
    • Modify test papers or transcripts without authorization.
    • Steal.
    • Fight or harm classmates maliciously.
    • Insult or disrespect teachers.
    • Behave poorly with bad attitude.
    • Misbehave outside school and damage the reputation of the school.

Note:

1) For students who misbehave, in addition to the above punishments, teachers may arrange other appropriate punishments and teaching methods.
2) If a student misbehaves, the teacher may impose appropriate sanctions, the scope of which need not be limited to the above. 
3) All rules are subject to the right to modify or add or delete them.

General Requirements of School Uniform and Appearance

  1. The following are the general requirements of school uniform and appearance. Students must adhere to them. Students should be in full school uniform on the campus unless an announcement is made to the contrary
  2. Students should maintain a plain, neat and healthy image at all times.
  3. Hairstyles should be neat and simple. No perming, dyeing or bleaching is allowed. Fancy appearance, nail polishing and make-up are prohibited.  Accessories, such as ring, earring, ear-pin and/or other accessories are not allowed.
 Summer Uniform – BoysWinter Uniform – Boys
ShirtWhite short-sleeved point collar shirt with school badge, completely button up (except the top button).  The shirt must be tucked in at all times. (Must wear white undershirt with no logos or patterns.)White long-sleeved point collar shirt and grey striped school time, completely buttoned up. The shirt must be tucked in at all time. When the Hong Kong Observatory issues the cold weather warning, students are allowed to wear, in addition to school uniform, down outerwears, Chinese jackets or thick coats of plain grey, black or blue.  Scarves in plain grey, black or blue can also be worn.
ShoesFor normal school days, round-toe black leather shoes with no pattern.
For school days with PE lessons, sport shoes mainly white in colour should be worn.
School SocksSchool socks/ white socks with no logos or patterns. Ankle socks or footie socks are NOT allowed.
Hair StyleHair should not reach eyebrows, ear and collar.
Boys must be cleanly shaved.
Perming, dyeing and bleaching are not allowed. All hairdressing products, such as gel and mud, are not allowed.

Unless there is PE lesson for the day, other students with no PE lesson must wear proper school uniform.

Students should wear school uniform or school PE uniform when attending school activities. On occasions when students are allowed to have casual wear for their activities, they should adhere to the following casual dress guidelines:

  1. All clothes should be plain and neat.
  2. T-shirt or shirt, long jeans or long pants (black/blue) and sports shoes are advised;
  3. Do not wear vest, leggings, hot pants or short skirts; do not wear sandals, high-top shoes or high heels; do not wear accessories.
  4. No make-up will be allowed.
  5. Students must adhere to the ‘General Requirements of School Uniform and Appearance’ for hair style requirement.

Note:

  1. All regulations about school uniform are set by the school. In case any alternations are needed due to religious reasons, please apply to the school before 15th September.

Question 1 : What is meants by “lateness”?

Students are required to school by 8:05 a.m. for morning session and before 2:00p.m. for afternoon session (special schedule 12:55p.m.)
In addition, students who need change location, must reach the place as soon as possible, undue delay would be regarded as lateness.

Question 2 : What would be the punishment for a student who comes to school late?
The punishment of the lateness are as follows:
