[Walking in God’s Love: Standing with Nepal Through His Powerful Word in Our First Chapel]

At Concordia Lutheran School – North Point, our students come from diverse backgrounds. The Bible teaches us, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”(1 john 3:18)

In response to the recent landslide on the China-Nepal border, our school immediately launched an emergency care mechanism on August 27 to fully support our 24 Nepalese students and their families, demonstrating the inclusive and caring spirit of CLS-NP through concrete actions:

  • Active Outreach: Form teachers and NCS teachers contacted all Nepalese parents to understand their situation.
  • Flexible Support: Granted maximum flexibility for leaves of absence and arranged individual academic tutoring.
  • Caring Cards: Dispatched care cards (translated into Nepali, English, and Chinese) with resources for school support.
  • Financial Aid: Activated the “Caring Relief Fund” to help families facing severe economic losses apply for emergency grants.
  • Counseling Care: School social workers and the counseling team reached out to support students’ emotional well-being.

Under the leadership of the school chaplain and with the dedicated participation of the management team, Mr. Gurung Shubhuon, a Nepalese teacher, provided on-site interpretation in both English and Nepali. This enabled God’s word to transcend language barriers, bringing personal healing and comfort to every heart.

Message from Mr. Shubhuon:

尼泊爾語 (Nepali):

English Translation:

To all our Nepalese students and families: please remember that the school is standing with you. From financial aid to mental health support, we are fully prepared to help. May God bless and bring peace to our homeland and every family here.
