Tea House Student Matinees: 2025β2026
On November 20, our students participated in the βTea House Student Matinees: 2025β2026,β organized by the West Kowloon Cultural District. A total of 25 students from Secondary One to Secondary Three took part in this event.
During the programme, students not only learned about paizi ensemble performance and Cantonese music, but also enjoyed classic excerpts such as The Purple Hairpin β The Reunion of the Hairpin and the Sword, along with newly adapted short plays. While appreciating the performances, they gained deeper insights into the cultural values embedded in opera stories and experienced the unique beauty of Cantonese opera.
The activity enriched studentsβ understanding of traditional arts and inspired reflection on cultural inheritance. We hope that they will carry this cultural experience into their daily lives, cultivating appreciation and respect for Chinese culture, and eventually become advocates for the promotion of arts and heritage.
