The students visited HUB13, the multicultural hall of the Caritas Community Centre – Kowloon in To Kwa Wan. The responsible social worker introduced the living conditions of grass-roots families in the district and the environment of subdivided flats, and then accompanied the students to visit these families, bringing cooking oil as a gift. During the home visits, the students learned more about the families’ living conditions and talked with them to understand their needs. After the visit, the students were surprised by the families’ living conditions, reflected on the richness of their own lives, and developed a deeper appreciation for the things they have.
