In the first-stage group matches of the “2025–2026 NIKE All Hong Kong Inter-School Elite Basketball Competition,” has wrapped up on Friday (19th). Competing at Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre, Concordia Lutheran School North Point secured a convincing 67–43 victory over United Christian College (Tai Hang Tung), finishing at the top of Boys’ Group B with a perfect record of three wins in three games.

The “Zurich Insurance Hong Kong Inter-School 3×3 Basketball Challenge 2025” held its knockout stage on Saturday (28th) at ELCHK Lutheran Secondary School. In the boys’ division, two teams that had previously reached the semi-finals of the Elite Competition met again. Concordia Lutheran School – North Point edged out Hon Wah College 18–15 to advance to the Round of 14. Having gone undefeated in the group stage this year, Concordia will face ELCHK Lutheran Secondary School on finals day for a place in the Top 8.

Concordia Lutheran School – North Point appointed renowned local school basketball coach Chu Yiu Ming three years ago. Since then, the team’s performance has soared—they climbed from Division 3 all the way to the Elite Competition, even winning the championship in an invitational tournament. The 2nd “Sunshine Award” Presentation Ceremony, organized by the Hong Kong Values Education Association, was successfully held at Concordia Lutheran School – North Point on June 21. The award carries profound meaning: teachers are like rays of sunlight, illuminating students’ paths of growth, while students are like budding flowers that “grow toward the sun” under the care of their mentors. They learn to reflect courageously, embrace change, and ultimately thrive through adversity, becoming better versions of themselves.

Concordia Lutheran School – North Point powered through this year’s invitational tournament. In the group stage, they defeated Ying Wa College and Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Kwai Chung)—both also coached by Chu Yiu Ming. They then overcame Po Kok Secondary School in the semi-finals, making it to the championship game for the first time in school history.
From the opening tip-off, CLSNP showed their determination. Wan Sai Man attacked the paint, leading a 7–0 run. Diocesan Boys’ School (DBS) quickly responded with a three-pointer from captain Lau Chi Hin, and an inside-out combination from Lau Tsz Kin and Leung Chun Long tied the game 15–15 at the end of the first quarter. The tug-of-war continued into the second quarter, but CLSNP found momentum. Chan Kei Lam scored inside, while Leung Chi Yiu and Wan Sai Man hit threes from beyond the arc. Tsang Ching Kit added an and-one play, giving CLSNP a 30–27 lead at halftime.

Concordia Lutheran School – North Point successfully defended their title in the Hong Kong Island Division 3 Schools Basketball Competition this academic year. Although they missed out on a semi-final spot in the Elite Competition, they have established themselves as a recognized force in secondary school boys’ basketball.
Form Six captain PIN LOK HIM expressed his determination to fight alongside his teammates in the upcoming Panasonic Schools Basketball Invitational Tournament: “We won’t back down. Our first goal is to break out of the ‘Group of Death’ and prove to everyone that Concordia Lutheran School – North Point is a team with real strength!”

The “Zurich Insurance Hong Kong Inter-School 3×3 Basketball Challenge 2025” tipped off yesterday, with the secondary school boys’ group stage officially beginning on Sunday (11th) at ELCHK Lutheran Secondary School. Group H saw intense competition among the three teams. Fielding a new lineup, Concordia Lutheran School – North Point secured back-to-back wins by scoring 21 points in both games and advanced to the knockout stage with an unbeaten record.

“I Can Do It Too!” said a student with a neuromuscular impairment. The Peninsula Junior Chamber of Commerce hosted the “2024 We Love Reading – Hong Kong & Greater Bay Area Progress Award” Presentation Ceremony on June 30. A total of 60 underprivileged secondary school students who showed academic improvement were selected by the judging panel to receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500.
